Jane Clayton has a degree in Biology (2010; first class, University of Leeds) and a background in collaborative research projects and healthcare related Research and Development. This includes the proposal development and project management of international, multi-partner research projects, in academic and industrial settings, and a focus on European (FP7/Horizon 2020) Funding.
Jane has product design and development experience, specifically with Paxman Coolers Ltd, who design and manufacture scalp cooling systems, for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia/hair-loss (CIA). Jane’s initial research identified the impact of design modifications on the product’s performance. More recently this collaboration has focused on investigating the global impact of scalp cooling and the use of limb cooling for prevention of Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN). Jane is currently developing her experience and skills relating to medical device IP protection and regulatory approval processes.
