Biography

Jason is a Senior lecturer of Operations and Supply Chain Management and MBA course leader at Huddersfield Business School. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Specializing in sustainable supply chain management and circular economy, using quantitative research methods, Jason’s work has been published in various renowned journals (Google Scholar - Jason X. Wang), including:


• Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review
• International Journal of Production Economics
• Production Planning and Control
• Construction Management and Economics

Jason is the Senior Editor (Operations Research, Information & Technology) in Cogent Business & Management (ABS indexed, Taylor & Francis)


His work also attracts attention from the industrial community. He provided consulting services for industrial partners, including the vehicle recovery service supply chain in New Zealand, and the motorsport industry in the UK. He was invited to publish his research in leading professionally focused magazines.

Research Expertise and Interests

Jason’s core research focuses on two broad themes:


• Sustainable supply chain management, with a particular focus on customer firms driven supply chain sustainability practices and their impacts on supplying firms. This includes the explorations of the financial consequences of buyers/customer firms and their suppliers, and operations strategies for sustainable supply chain management practices.


• Circular economy and circular supply chain management, focusing on circular product design, business model innovation, and supply chain redesign and strategies to improve economic and environmental benefits in sustainable development.


Jason also works on manufacturing and sustainability innovation in the construction sector, such as prefabricated construction, to develop sector-specific sustainability strategies.
