Biography

Jason is a Senior lecturer of Operations and Supply Chain Management and MBA course leader at Huddersfield Business School. Specializing in sustainable supply chain management and circular economy, using quantitative research methods, Jason’s work has been published in various renowned journals (Google Scholar - Jason X. Wang), including:

  • International Journal of Operations and Production Management
  • Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review
  • International Journal of Production Economics

Jason is the Senior Editor (Operations Research, Information & Technology) in Cogent Business & Management (ABS indexed, Taylor & Francis)


His work also attracted attention from the industrial community. He provided consulting services for industrial partners, including the vehicle recovery service supply chain in New Zealand, and the motorsport industry in the UK. He was invited to publish his research in leading professionally focused magazines.

Research Expertise and Interests

Jason’s core research focuses on two broad themes:

 

  • Sustainable/circular supply chain management, with a particular focus on customer-driven supply chain sustainability practices and their impacts on supplying firms. This includes using carbon neutrality practices, circular product design, business model innovation, and supply chain redesign to improve economic and environmental benefits in sustainable development.

 

  • The application of blockchain technology in supply chain management, exploring its contributions to supply chain transparency, visibility, and traceability, and thus the development of supply chain resilience and robustness.   

 

Jason also works on manufacturing and sustainability innovation in the construction sector, such as prefabricated construction, to develop sector-specific sustainability strategies.
