Biography

Jim joined the University of Huddersfield in 2012 following a successful career in the NHS, after an initial career with the private sector working for GE in a call centre environment. Jim has gained experience of all areas of healthcare management having successfully redesigned patient pathways of care across the Manchester, York, Leeds, Bradford, and Airedale Health Economies.

Knowledge transfer and project management has always been of interest to Jim. He has led many successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and was awarded the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Knowledge Transfer Partnership prize for the Best Application of Social or Management Science, as well as the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) Best Partnership Award, North East England. These awards recognise the most successful innovation-led research partnerships.

Jim’s research has focused on operations improvement strategies, project management, innovation management, and strategic organisational change.

Since joining Huddersfield Business School Jim has been given the responsibility of Course Leader for the undergraduate Logistics and Supply Chain Courses, and the MSc in Project Management and Operations Management.
