Biography

Employed as Professor of Nursing at the University of Huddersfield, Joanne is a nurse and teacher and registered as both with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Her 30+ years of professional and academic practice is grounded firmly in the improvement of the patient experience through her clinical background, workforce development activities and academic achievements. This commitment to providing high quality care has been translated in more recent years to concrete successes in the design of inventive and original learning and teaching opportunities, leading work in curriculum development and forging research opportunities linked to workforce transformation. Joanne is now leading the development of the University’s Health and Wellbeing Academy; an international centre of excellence, dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of communities through innovation and collaboration.
