Dr Kalliopi Michalakopoulou joined the Department of Logistics, Marketing, Hospitality and Analytics in May 2020 as a Lecturer in Operations Design and Project Management. She is the programme leader of the Logistics, Transport, Operations and Analytics suite of Postgraduate Taught Programmes leading two separate MSc programmes one in Operations Management and Project Management, and one in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Huddersfield Business School. She is delivering some of the key Project Management and Operations Management modules offered by Huddersfield Business School in undergraduate and postgraduate students. Prior to her permanent role she has been actively involved for more than two years as a part-time Lecturer in the Operations Management team’s modules and module tutor in the delivery of the Artificial Intelligence and Mobility postgraduate module.

She is conducting research in the areas of Professional Service Operations Management and Innovation Management. Her key research interests include among others: open innovation, operations management tools like Lean thinking, human resource management, operational efficiency, sustainable project management, artificial intelligence and university industry relations. She has published journal papers in high-ranking journals and presented her work in a number of international and national conferences including EurOMA, POMS and BAM.

She has a PhD on Operations Management (University of Huddersfield, 2020). It was funded by Huddersfield Business School after being awarded a three-year full-time doctorate scholarship. Her PhD title is “Innovation adoption as a vehicle for operational efficiency enhancement in the legal service management”. Kalliopi has also an MSc in Business with Human Resource Management (distinction) from Huddersfield Business School in 2016. Her first degree was an BA in German Language and Literature (Aristotle University of Greece, 2015).

Kalliopi also holds a PGCert in Research Methods and she is a CMI member since 2017 after receiving a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
