Biography

Karen is Emeritus Professor of Skin Integrity, Adjunct Professor of Wound Care, Monash University, Australia, Visiting Professor in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia and Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin. She a Florence Nightingale Scholar, President of the Internataional Skin Tears Advisory Panel, Immediate past chair of the International Wound Infection Institute and the World Union of Wound Healing Societies Recorder. Karen led development of TVLC, the first UK wide Tissue Viability Service Capability framework. Karen's clinical background is in orthopaedics and tissue viability where she has worked in NHS hospitals across the North West of England and in London
