Kate Daubney

I have been working in higher education since 1993, originally as a film musicologist, and had an academic career for 7 years at the University of Derby and the University of Leeds. I was editor of the Scarecrow Series of Film Score Guides which shaped discourse and disciplinary investigation in film musicology. 

Since 2002 I have been working as a careers professional with clients of all age groups, and in 2014 moved into career service leadership, firstly at the University of Chester, then at King's College London, and finally as Director of The Careers Group, a federation of career services for the University of London.

I am an established and recognised expert in embedding employability in curriculum, focusing specifically on transferable skills within education strategy. I also have expertise in career readiness, learning gain, and experiential learning.

I have published several peer reviewed articles and a book on careers and employability strategy. I am a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts.
