Biography

I am the Head of Division for the Division of Social Work and Social Care; within this role I have responsibility for continued innovation and quality of the pre-qualifying social work programmes and overall responsibility for the provision of our social work and health and social care courses. I am a SWE registered Social Worker. I qualified as a social worker in 2000 and spent a number of years working in a drug and alcohol service. During this time I completed a Masters degree in Drugs Intervention Studies. I also have experience of working within the Probation Service and in a hospital setting. Since joining the University in 2007 I have had a number of roles, including Placement Coordinator, Course Leader for the MSc Social Work and Subject Leader in Social Work. I contribute to teaching on the undergraduate and post graduate social work programmes.
