Personal profile

I took up my current post as Subject Leader in Social Work in February 2016; within this role I have responsibility for continued innovation and quality of the pre-qualifying social work programmes. I am a HCPC registered Social Worker. I qualified as a social worker in 2000 and spent a number of years working in a drug and alcohol service. During this time I completed a Masters degree in Drugs Intervention Studies. I also have experience of working within the Probation Service and in a hospital setting. Since joining the University in 2007 I have had a number of roles, including Placement Coordinator and Course Leader for the MSc Social Work. I sit within the Division of Social Care and Counselling and I contribute to teaching on the undergraduate and post graduate social work programmes.
