Biography

Kirsty joined the University of Huddersfield in 2021 and is currently a Senior Lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Sport and Physical Education course. She started her employment working as a secondary school Physical Education teacher for 9 years before moving into the HE sector.  

Kirsty was a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University for 5 years before moving to the University of Huddersfield. At Sheffield Hallam, she taught on a variety of degrees including Sport and Exercise Science, Sport Development with Coaching and Physical Education and School Sport.  

Kirsty has a keen interest in Sport Psychology and pursued an MSc in this area alongside her role as a teacher. Kirsty is currently undertaking a PhD exploring perceptions of secondary school Physical Education and the impact of Physical Education on student’s health and well-being.
