Biography
Martin Andrew was appointed a Senior Lecturer role in November 2023 on the BA (Hons) Youth and Community Work course. Martin has succesfully completed a PGCHE and has recognition as FHEA.
Martin also has experience of teaching across Educational Leadership and Management at undergraduate and Masters level, Childhood studies, Working with Children and Families, safeguarding, Youth and Community Work, academic studies and Qualitative research methods. He also supervises undergraduate and Masters students.
Prior to the appointment, Martin has worked across the voluntary sector and local authority as a youth worker while being involved in a variety of youth work environments including, open access, targeted, street-based youth work. During this time, Martin has also led multi-agency street-based teams, managed teams of youth workers, and led social and emotional learning sessions with primary and secondary schools.
Martin’s research interests surrounds NEET young people and the evolving socioeconomic environment that stems from his Masters research, and how young people develop and interact within their social environment.
