Biography

I am the Subject Area leader for the Digital Media side of the Department of Computer Science in the School of Computing and Engineering. I started at Huddersfield in 2000, having just completed a conversion Masters MSc in Interactive Multimedia Production the previous year.

I started my career as a Civil Engineer, gaining a First at Newcastle University in Civil Engineering , followed by a full-time PhD in heavy duty paving design. I’ve travelled around the world with consultancy and manufacturing/sales work, in the latter years progressing to Environmental Engineering. Here I specialised in landfill control and mitigation – capping, leachate and gas control and paving over compressible strata.

Whilst lecturing at Huddersfield, I have specialised in teaching interactive media for web and disc, now focussing more on website production, entrepreneurial skills and video production with students.
