Biography
Qualifications: IPD Cert, CertEd, BA, Diploma in Counselling, MA, FHEA
Mohammed has over 25 years’ experience of teaching on a diverse range of courses allied to teacher training, counselling, childhood studies and youth and community work professions.
Initially joining the University of Huddersfield as a Commercial Activities Trainer, Mohammed is currently Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the MA in Education and also lecturers on BA (Hons) Education and Professional Development, BA (Hons) Childhood Studies and the BA (Hons) Youth and Community courses within the university and the BEd Education in Development and Student-Centred Learning course as part of the UK-China Co-operation project in Guangzhou, China.
As an experienced lecturer, Mohammed research interests revolve around identifying how aspects of educational psychology can be used to promote learning by identifying practical strategies which help to engage learner's enthusiasm and interest in their personal and professional development. Mohammed has also developed a keen interest in narratives and use of stories and metaphors in teaching and is currently working towards his doctorate which aims to explore the influence metaphors have in informing the wider narratives of how academics reflect on their practice.
