Biography

Dr. Nada Elbarkouky joined the Department of Accounting, Finance, Logistics, and Economics (AFLE) as a lecturer of Supply Chain management and analytics. She delivers some of the key Supply Chain and logistics modules offered by Huddersfield Business School to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Nada is an Executive Committee Member of the Universities' Transport Study Group (UTSG) which includes 60 universities across the UK (https://utsg.net/).

Nada has over 17 years of academic and industry experience. Before joining the University of Huddersfield, she was a lecturer at the British University in Egypt, where she was responsible for Business Information Systems module as well as, Supply Chain and Logistics Modules. She taught to large cohorts that were on average 400-500+ students. She led a major initiative of creating a new major for Business Information Systems, based on Students’ requests.

Nada is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MiLT), UK, and a distinguished board member of the Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLaT) council in Egypt.

Nadahas been appointed as the Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Transport, in the Egyptian Ministry of Transport, for various ministers. Throughout her years of experience, she has been consulted in various projects with private-sector companies as well as the government sector. This included – Consultation on the implementation of the Suez Canal Project. As part of her duties as an advisor to H.E. the Minister of Transport, she successfully led one of the biggest transport projects in the Middle East (LogisMed: Logistics Mediterranean) funded by the EIB, which involved implementing a Logistics observatory and training a wide range of organisations in the field of Logistics and Transport (White Collars & Blue Collars).

In addition to her professional endeavors, Nada is a prolific scholar, with publications to her credit in esteemed conferences. As a dedicated educator, she has imparted her wisdom to students at various institutions, including the British University in Egypt, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and the American University in Cairo (AUC). She has played a pivotal role in shaping the curricula in different courses in transport and logistics certifications, Teaching and supervising Master’s level students as well as undergraduates.

Nada got her PhD from Ain Shams University, in Egypt, and is near completion of her second PhD at the University of Huddersfield.
