Biography

Dr Naila Anwar is an experienced senior academic leader who has a vision to make education accessible to all. As the first Head of Law at University of Essex Online she created the first fully online LLB (Hons) law programmes for distance learners, taking several UG and PG law courses from conception to launch. Naila has previously worked as the Head of Law and Criminology at the University of Essex Online, a Senior Academic Tutor at Sheffield International College (SIC), a Lecturer of Law at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), and a Module Coordinator and Sessional Law Tutor at Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC). She is an enrolled advocate of the Dhaka Bar Association (non-practicing) and has also worked as a trainee lawyer for the Human Rights Enforcement Agency, a prominent NGO.  

Naila holds a PhD from the School of Law, University of Nottingham (NU), and a Masters in International and European Union Law from the University of Sheffield. Her research interests include international environmental law (especially conservation related issues), international organisational law, global governance and WTO agreements that include environmental issues.
