Personal profile
Dr Noor Muhammad is working as a senior lecturer in entrepreneurship in the department of management Huddersfield university business school. He joined the University of Huddersfield in 2022. Prior to joining the University of Huddersfield, he worked as a senior lecturer in strategy, innovation and enterprise from 2019 to 2022 in the school of business and law at the University of Brighton. Dr Noor Muhammad has also worked as an assistant professor of entrepreneurship and enterprise development in the school of management at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology which is one of the prominent institutions in Pakistan.
Dr Noor Muhammad has completed his MPhil and PhD from the University of Huddersfield with a major in entrepreneurship and enterprise development. He has got more than 9 years teaching and research experience. Dr Noor is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (FHEA).
Research interests
Dr Noor Muhammad primary research areas consist of four clusters, including entrepreneurship in a conflict zone, women entrepreneurship, enterprise development, and multidisciplinary research. Entrepreneurship in conflict and rural regions have been recognized by academic scholars and researchers to be researched. International funding agencies provide opportunities for researchers to research on entrepreneurship in those countries facing uproar circumstances and how entrepreneurship and new enterprises can contribute to providing employment opportunities in the deprived regions. Therefore, he has developed realistic possibilities not only for further research projects and publications but also for collaboration with other international organizations who are interested to support his research further. Regarding women entrepreneurship, his research focuses that how women entrepreneurs operate small businesses in conflict environments face formidable challenges where a little research has been undertaken to explore these women entrepreneurs. Furthermore, he also publishes papers in other areas of interest to conduct a multidisciplinary approach, including operations research, economics and health care innovation management. He has published papers in these areas in well-reputed journals.
Dr Noor Muhammad is a member of Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) UK, Academy of Management, Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship and Research Exchange (ACERE), and British Academy of Management and review papers of these international reputable conferences. Furthermore, he also reviews papers of the well-reputed journals.
Approach to teaching
Dr Noor has taught several modules at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level, both small and large groups. He has got a practical experience of the subjects Entrepreneurship, New Product Development, New Venture Start-up, Business Research Method, Total Quality Management, Small and Medium Enterprises and Technological Entrepreneurship. Additionally, Dr Noor has worked as a key mentor in GIK Incubation Centre at GIK Institute, where students have launched new ventures under his direct supervision.

For the knowledge exchange, Dr Noor Muhammad attends conferences, business events, and workshops regularly. He is a member of the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship and Research Exchange and Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship UK. He is also an external examiner the University of West London UK.
