Dr Liu is a lecturer in the Department of Logistics, Marketing, Hospitality and Analytics since January 2022. She is the course leader for the BSc(Hons) Business Data Analytics at Huddersfield Business School. Her main teaching responsibilities lie in Transport, Logistics, and Data analytics. Dr Liu is also a core member of the Future Mobility Lab, a new sustainable transport and smart mobility research initiative.
Dr Liu was awarded a PhD degree in recognition of a programme of work entitled “Exploring public acceptance of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy risks”, where she investigated CAVs benefits and their associated risks, their regulation and implementation, as well as public perception and acceptance of this technology. This research was sponsored by Huddersfield Business School and the Artificial Intelligence Research Funding initiative of Huddersfield University.
Dr Liu started her academic career as a research fellow at the University of Surrey after her doctorate, where she worked on the HEIF funded project in partnership with Nervtech UK to test the driving support needs of those aged 60+ in the UK. Her current research interests are in energy and net zero research in transport.
Away from work, Dr Liu enjoys a variety of crafts including DIY house renovation, photography, sewing, knitting, cooking and baking. Nothing she likes better than trying new restaurants, switching hobbies and exploring Yorkshire Dales.
