Personal profile

Biography

I did my first degree at Keele University where I studied English and History. I then went to the University of York to do an MA in Medieval Studies and followed this up with a D.Phil in Medieval History which was on hospitals and charity in medieval Yorkshire. I then worked at Newcastle Polytechnic, which turned into Northumbria University, teaching medieval and early modern History. I came to Huddersfield in 1993 to join what was then a Department of History and Politics. I was Head of History 2003-2013. I am now Student Experience Co-ordinator and Deputy Director of Teaching and Learning.
