Personal profile


I was appointed as Head of Maternal and Child Health in September 2014 in the School of Human and Health Sciences, having previously worked as the Head of Postgraduate Provision since 2010 and prior to this as a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery. I qualified as a midwife in 1984 and have also gained the BSc (Hons) Nursing with Education in 1994 (University of Huddersfield) and MA Health Care Ethics in 1998 (Leeds University). I have also undertaken the Examination of the Newborn Course (ENB N96) in 2000 (Sheffield University). Prior to working as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield in 1996, I worked as a midwifery lecturer at Bradford University (1989-1996).
