Biography

Dr Rajeeb Sah is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health and an International Lead for the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sports and Exercise at the University of Huddersfield. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH). Dr Sah is trained as a Medical Doctor and have completed a PhD in Health and Social Care (Public Health) and MSc in Public Health. Before joining the University of Huddersfield, he worked as a Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Health Promotion at Canterbury Christ Church University where he was also the Programme Director for MSc Global Public Health and International Lead for the School of Allied and Public Health Professions. He has successfully designed and led the MSc Global Public Health programme and delivered various modules within the undergraduate and postgraduate public health courses.

Dr Sah is an interdisciplinary researcher with a focus on international aspects of health and education. His PhD study was about an ethnographic exploration of social and cultural factors affecting sexual lifestyles and relationships of Nepalese young people in the UK. His research expertise includes Sexual and Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Social Determinants of Health, Health Inequalities, Health Services Research, Sustainable Development Goals, and Global Public Health. He is a qualitative researcher with special interests in Co-production and Participatory Research, Ethnography and Systematic Reviews.

  • Families Growing Together: Using five ways to wellbeing to evaluate its impact on mental health and wellbeing
  • Mental health experiences and coping strategies of Asian or Asian British children and young people in West Yorkshire
  • Women’s experiences and perceptions of male partner/spouse involvement in maternal health services among Asian or Asian British population in West Yorkshire.
  • Families Growing Together: Mental health and wellbeing benefits on interaction with nature among Black Asian and Minority Ethnic Groups
  • Improving health and wellbeing of homeless people through improved access to health and social care services in West Yorkshire
  • Experiences of refugees and asylum seekers towards access and utilisation of sexual health services
