From 2015 to 2021, Dr. Reza Moghdani collaborated with Persian Gulf University in Iran, where he served as a research assistant in Industrial Management, primarily focusing on operations research. In April 2023, he joined the University of Huddersfield as a Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. In his role, he leads the UG nad PG courses in Logistics, Transport, and Supply Chain Management within the Department of Logistics, Marketing, Hospitality, and Analytics at Huddersfield Business School.

Dr. Moghdani's research expertise centers on developing and integrating mathematical optimization solutions for sustainable transportation, particularly in routing and scheduling problems. He has engaged in multiple research projects applying advanced operations research methods to logistics and supply chain management. Notably, he has developed a metaheuristic approach inspired by sports, which is interestingly novel in the area of approximation approaches from an operations research perspective.

Currently, he is focused on integrating uncertainty approaches into mathematical optimization problems, aiming to closely align with real-world application problems. His research also delves into the economic benefits of supply chain management and the development of metaheuristic approaches, resulting in several publications in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Applied Soft Computing, Knowledge-Based Systems, Engineering with Computers, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Expert Systems with Applications.
