Personal profile

Rob Kennedy – is a senior academic in children’s and young people’s nursing.  As a children’s nurse primarily, he has worked with many children and young people over the past 30 years in acute hospital and rehabilitative community settings. Rob is an advocate for the child and the child's unique 'voice and agency'. He is a profound believer that all children and young people have equitable rights to achieve and attain their goals, especially those with complex needs and / or those with Autism / Asperger’s Syndrome. He has experienced first-hand the inequalities in health that these children and young people often experience, mainly unintentionally and due to a lack of fore thought or insight / knowledge to their individualised health needs.  This is the focus of his phd studies.
