Ruby has a wide experience within adult nursing, working mainly in Gastro and acute med/surg care at St James Hospital, Leeds but also with knowledge of elderly and emergency care.
Following their passion of feminist and queer theory, Ruby completed a Masters in Gender Studies in 2019, writing on ethical issues in nursing practice, intimacy, transphobia and autonomy through a number of "post-structuralist" lenses.
Moving toward their PhD, their academic interests include: sexualities and intimacies; care and gender idenitity; applications of queer theory into nursing practice, and institutional whiteness.
