Biography

 

Dr. Shama Parveen is currently a Research Assistant at School of Applied Sciences in University of Huddersfield, UK. Previously, she worked as a Research Fellow in a research project of  Textile Chemistry at University of Huddersfield (January 2019- March 2019), she was a group leader of Nanomaterials Research Group of Fibrenamics research team in University of Minho, Portugal (January 2017-Septemebr 2018). She obtained her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, India (2004), and Ph.D. in Polymers and Composites (2016) from University of Minho, Portugal.

 

Dr. Parveen is actively involved in the research and development of functional composites, nanocomposites, bio-composites, electrospinning, etc. She has been a key researcher in developing ‘smart multifunctional cementitious composites’ and high performance ‘cementitious composites’. She has been a mentor for several PhD and Master’s students at the University of Minho. She has published over 10 papers in peer reviewed international journals and contributed to 14 book chapters and more than 15 papers in international conferences. Dr. Parveen has experience of teaching at Engineering Colleges for about 3 years in India. There she taught both Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
