I am a researcher and registered social worker, with an interest in children and families. I joined The University of Huddersfield in November 2021, as a research assistant on The Stepping Stones Study. The study a longitudinal qualitative study, funded by the NIHR, and explores the care pathways of pregnant women who use drugs and their babies from early pregnancy until 18 months after the birth of their baby. The study is a collaboration between Kings College London, The University of Stirling, Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust and The University of Huddersfield.
Prior to my role at Huddersfield I worked for 2 years as a researcher at the Rees Centre, University of Oxford. My research was focused on children looked after and adoption. My PhD was completed at Coventry University, and explored the experiences of birth parents who had a child adopted from care, including their understanding of consent.
