Biography

Dr Siping Shi is a Lecturer in Cyber Security in the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield, UK. She received her B.E. degree in Computer Science and Technology from Sichuan University in 2014, her M.Sc. degree in Computer Application Technology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017, and her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2023. Before joining the University of Huddersfield, she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr Shi's research focuses on trustworthy distributed artificial intelligence, with particular interests in trustworthy multi agent systems, federated learning, federated analytics, edge computing, privacy-preserving machine learning, and large foundation models. Her work aims to develop efficient, private, and robust AI systems for distributed and resource-constrained environments, using techniques including differential privacy, functional encryption, and distributionally robust optimisation.
 
She has published research in leading international journals and conferences, including USENIX Security, ACM Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, and IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems. She also regularly serves as a reviewer for international journals and conferences, including IEEE TPDS, IEEE TMC, IEEE JSAC, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICDCS, and ACM Multimedia.
