Souad joined the University of Huddersfield in July 2018 as Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Before that she worked at Staffordshire University for two years as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance and was the Course Leader for MPhil and PhD Programmes (Economics, Business and Management). During her time at Staffordshire University, she became the leader of an Erasmus + project “Adoption of Sustainable Accounting Practices for reporting / Report-ASAP”, that started in Aug 2017 and runs for two years. She is still leading on that project as part of her external engagement. Before that she worked at Middlesex University where she taught a range of accounting modules. Also, during her PhD she worked as a research assistant for two different projects.
Souad comes from an academic background, as she holds a PhD in Sustainability Accounting and a Master- MRes (Distinction) in Economics and Finance both from Brunel University London and a post graduate diploma and a first degree in Accounting. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Research Expertise and Interests
Souad’s current research interest lies generally in the areas of CSR; Sustainability accounting & reporting; performance management; Stakeholders’ theory; and Balanced Scorecard.
