Biography

Stephen White joined the university in October 2002, is a senior lecturer and Academic Lead for Technology Enhanced Learning & Research in the School of Human and Health Sciences. Stephen has a background in perioperative practice, and is a registered Operating Department Practitioner. He began his healthcare practice in 1985 in the Royal Air Force, before becoming an educator in 1993, serving in both single service and tri-service institutions, which led to the transition into academia at the Defence School of Health Care Studies, University of Central England, Birmingham in 2001, and then to the University of Huddersfield. Stephen’s passion for using and promoting technology in education ultimately led to his current role being established in 2014, to work with colleagues in developing educational technology initiatives. Stephen has studied e-learning & multimedia at Masters level, and his PhD focuses on the potential infection risks of using mobile technologies in the healthcare environment.
