Stephen Burnip has a background in both newspaper and broadcast journalism.
A postgraduate of the Centre for Journalism Studies at Cardiff University, he worked as a news reporter and then a feature writer for the Yorkshire Evening Post in Leeds.
At Yorkshire Television, he worked as a news bulletin producer on Calendar before moving into the features department as a researcher. Over the 17 years that he was there, latterly as a producer /director, he worked on a wide variety of feature series…. from travel and business to light entertainment and current affairs.
He also produced one-off documentaries, and was studio producer of YTV’s highly rated “live” Tonight programme for several years.
He left in 2005 to form his own company Media Frame Productions, before joining the University of Huddersfield as a senior lecturer in journalism and media.
