Biography

Sue is a Senior Lecturer on the MA and PgDip Career Development and Employability course and the PgCert in Career Leadership at the University Of Huddersfield, joining the teaching team in 2021.

Prior experience includes professional development training and experience in schools, colleges and university careers services. She continues to practice as a career development professional to ensure her teaching is grounded in the realities of practice. 

The key focus of her teaching is professional practice supporting students to develop the essential skills and knowledge needed to work with individuals or with groups as a careers development practitioner, guiding students through the process of gaining their CDI professional accreditation through a range of placement and work-based learning activity. 

Sue is an affiliate member of AGCAS and the CDI and currently, sits on the Ethics and Professional Standards Committee of the CDI. 

Passionate about equity of access to opportunities, Sue's Masters research focused on widening access and participation into postgraduate study for students whose parents/ guardians do not have HE qualification. She has continued research in this area and recently completed a collaboative research project with other members of NEON. 

Sue's PhD topic focuses on Group Career Guidance which compliments her teaching focus of working with individuals and groups
