Personal profile

Biography

I joined the University in September 2015 and I am currently working as Senior Lecturer in Secondary Education, Department of Initial Teaching Education. I initially began working in industry, marketing electronic components. After several years I entered the teaching profession as a Business and ICT teacher and worked at a number of secondary schools in Rotherham and Barnsley.  I have a keen interest in learning and teaching and have had the opportunity to work as a Learning Champion, Mentor, Faculty Leader and as a Senior Leader in a secondary school environment. Some key achievements have been to develop and implement a range of strategies to monitor data and progress across subjects, which has raised standards of attainment across schools. In addition I have developed professional development and bespoke training for both trainee and professional teachers.
