Biography
Having left practice as a Senior Crime Analyst then Behavioural Investigative Adviser with the National Crime Agency providing psychological advice to investigations of difficult to detect murder, rape and abduction, I have since worked in academia for over ten years. My work focusses on applying psychological research to improving policing and investigations. I set up and ran a masters course in Forensic and Investigative Psychology at Bournemouth University, and have vast experience teaching and supervising both undergraduates and postgraduates. I have written four books (one winning the British Psychological Society textbook of the year). I now work in the Professional Doctoral Academy providing post graduate supervision to practitioners wishing to undertake further applied research. My research interests include serious and sexual violence, violence against women and girls, and behavioural analysis of crime.
