Biography Statement
Dr. Yuchu Qin received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Technology in 2010 and a Master's degree in Computer Application Technology in 2013. He was awarded a PhD in Measurement Technology and Instrument with a thesis entitled “Towards Intelligent Design of Tolerance Specifications: An Ontology-Based Methodology” under the supervision of Prof. Xiangqian Jiang DBE, DSc, FREng from School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Top ten in overall and the best in Mechanical Engineering in China), China in 2017.
Yuchu focused his research in the areas of Intelligent Manufacturing, Computational Intelligence, and Knowledge Engineering. He is an editorial board member of Digital Manufacturing Technology, a reviewer board member of Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing, and a peer reviewer for Assembly Automation, Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, Mathematics, and Information.
Yuchu has authored or co-authored over 30 academic papers (including over 20 first-author papers) in a number of journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (2019 IF: 9.112), Virtual and Physical Prototyping (2019 IF: 7.310), Knowledge-Based Systems (2019 IF: 5.921), Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (2019 IF: 5.057), Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing (2019 IF: 4.311), Computers & Industrial Engineering (2019 IF: 4.135), Advanced Engineering Informatics (2019 IF: 3.879), Measurement (2019 IF: 3.364), Computer-Aided Design (2019 IF: 3.156), and Soft Computing (2019 IF: 3.050). He has also co-authored 2 academic monographs about knowledge representation and knowledge-based system.
Research Expertise
(1) Intelligent Manufacturing: design for additive manufacturing, computer-aided tolerancing, product data representation and exchange;
(2) Computational Intelligence: multi-objective decision-making, fuzzy aggregation operator, multi-objective optimisation, similarity measure;
(3) Knowledge Engineering: description logic, ontology, knowledge representation and reasoning, case-based reasoning, knowledge-based system.
