Co-Creating an Advanced Practice Nursing Framework: A Transnational Partnership for Health Workforce Strengthening in Ghana

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project will co-create a national framework for Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) in Ghana through collaboration between the University of Huddersfield (UoH), Ghanaian Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA) and Ghana’s Ministry of Health (MoH). With input and engagement from other key stakeholders including higher education institutions (HEI)’s in Ghana and Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC), the framework will guide policy, education, and regulation of advanced nursing roles, raising existing programmes to international standards while remaining grounded in Ghana’s local health priorities. The partnership will strengthen health workforce capacity, build leadership skills, and support equitable access to high-quality care across Ghana.
