Description
This project focuses on developing a novel flexible socket tool for robotic in maintenance applications. Robotics in maintenance is still emerging, and current tools lack adaptability for precise alignment with fasteners such as bolts, caps, and locks. The current method involves the spinning tool on the robot rotating slowly while the robot gradually pushes it forward until the socket engages with the fastener. This process causes wear and damage over time. The proposed tool will mechanically self-align which also providing real-time torque feedback during both tightening and loosening operations. By enhancing robotic capabilities, it will reduce downtime and improve maintenance accuracy.
