Early Years Talk: embedding speech, language and communication focus into early education and home activities

This project aims to embed speech, language and communication principles from the Speech Stars programme delivered in nurseries and primary schools (ages 3-7) by Kirklees Success Centre (Kirklees Council) into school routines and home activities. We will work with school staff and parents/carers to co-create resources based on the existing delivery model of Speech Stars and package these as standalone resources. This will enable the team to reach schools and children who have not yet benefitted from Speech Stars and to ensure continuity between home and school by engaging parents/carers with ways to support children’s speech and language development in early childhood.
