Project Details
Description
East Marsh United (EMU), a community organisation in Grimsby, has an ambitious plan to transform their local ward and to improve wellbeing by enhancing people’s living conditions and environment. Central to this is the transfer of flats from the existing social landlord and working in partnership to empower local people to have a voice. This also involves working with the network of helping agencies in the ward, and seeking assistance of external experts, including the University of Huddersfield. This project further develops the links between EMU and the university and focuses on preparing the ground for a longer-term collaboration through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). We will work together on the essential skills and knowledge for engaging people’s voices and incorporating this into strategic plans. A key challenge for EMU is becoming a social landlord of over 100 properties and we identify needs for growth.
