Description
The fellowship will strengthen the University of Huddersfield’s strategic role as a regional anchor institution actively supporting crime prevention, social cohesion, and public service innovation. It will:
Deepen collaborative research with high-impact regional and national partners (e.g., West Yorkshire Police, WYCA, NPCC, Home Office)
Generate applied insights that inform public policy and practice, enhancing the University’s civic contribution
Provide a clear pathway to impact through embedded evaluation and co-production with end users
Support early-career researcher development through hands-on policy engagement
Enhance future funding opportunities through demonstrable success in place-based, policy-relevant work
More broadly, the project will showcase how COLIF partners can facilitate responsive, multi-agency solutions to regional inequality and community safety challenges.
