Evaluation of bed mobility experimental methodology to test pressure redistribution mattresses.

Pressure redistribution mattresses are one of the many adjuncts used in pressure ulcer prevention and management. However, no one has yet explored the impact they have upon an individual’s ability to move within the bed (bed mobility). The PI of this proposal has developed a research methodology to test bed mobility when using pressure redistribution mattresses. The aim of this project is to test and evaluate the methodology designed by the PI so it could be used in future research projects, one of those being a KTP with the supporting partner organisation BES healthcare.
