‘FROM BELOW’: Co-Creating Archaeological Forensic Methodologies and Transmedia Strategies to locate the missing in Colombia

Colombia’s armed conflict has left tens of thousands missing and communities are searching for answers. This ten-month project will co-create innovative forensic archaeology methods and transmedia narrative building to help develop a methodological toolkit to find missing people find Colombia’s missing people – a resource which can be replicated in other environments and areas of conflict and mass violence. Led by a specialist group of researchers from the University of Huddersfield, in partnership with the grassroot organisation Escuela Audiovisual de Belén de los Andaquíes (EAI) in Colombia, the project will produce novel methodologies, digital maps, community-driven exhibits and media content to find missing people in Colombia. These outputs, along with joint publications, a policy brief and a methodological framework, will enhance search efforts and deliver societal impact aligned with AHRC/ESRC priorities.
