Market Validation for a Peer-Reviewed Vocal Analysis Platform in the Creative Industries

Metal vocalists have no objective way to benchmark technique against professional peers or measure how closely their voice matches a favourite artist. Guttural addresses this: it extracts 67 acoustic features from a short vocal recording and positions them against 116 professional metal vocalists and returns a personalised acoustic profile. Vocalists can see how closely they match a professional peer; vocal coaches can track student progress against named professionals. Proven at laboratory level, Guttural has not been validated commercially. This project recruits six named professional vocalists to test Guttural and generates market evidence for a subsequent Proof of Concept application.
