Description

Revisiting Rubber – Reconstructing Atomage for the Archive explores the legacy of Atomage, the pioneering fetish fashion magazine by John Sutcliffe. Originally focused on leather, the publication evolved to celebrate and encompass rubberwear, which shaped fetish aesthetics and subcultural identity. In collaboration with the Bishopsgate Institute, I will reconstruct two iconic Atomage looks in latex, which will be on display at the UK Leather and Fetish Archive. To disseminate the research, I will be in conversation with Special Collections and Archive Manager Stefan Dickers at a Fetish Archives Lates event, exploring the intersections of fashion, fetish, and cultural history.
