Smart Plug-in Storage for Household Flexibility and Future Low Carbon Energy Systems

This project explores how plug in battery storage and smart electricity pricing can help households and small businesses reduce energy costs and support a more flexible low carbon electricity system. Led by the University of Huddersfield in collaboration with PowerMatrix Technology Limited, UrbanChain, and CISL, the project will develop a practical demonstrator showing how battery storage can respond to dynamic electricity tariffs and provide energy flexibility. Through stakeholder engagement and real world scenarios, the project aims to support understanding of future energy flexibility and identify pathways for wider adoption of smart low carbon energy solutions.
