Project Details

Description

The individual(s) funded by the ERA Foundation would undergo a rapid
upskilling to fully understand the subtleties surrounding Industry 4.0 – the
intent is to identify an individual/individuals who has/have a high level of
existing skill in the area and who would bring industrial credibility to the role.
Further specialisation/upskilling would be accomplished through engagement
with the North West Pilot and also with the Manufacturing Technology Centre
at Coventry and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Sheffield
(both affiliated to the High Value Manufacturing Catapult) and others where
appropriate (e.g. ‘The Manufacturer’).

A list of manufacturing companies who are willing to engage with this
proposed programme of work will be generated and prioritised.
The ERA Foundation funded individual would engage one-on-one with these
companies to map out their particular needs to successfully transition to
being Industry 4.0 ready.

A number of these companies would be supported to prepare KTP
submissions to secure the services of KTP Associates (and the associated
academic input) to drive a digitalisation programme at the companies.
Tailored specialist skills enhancement for the recruited KTP Associates will
be provided by UoH - directly and through linking to the North West Pilot,
HVMC, etc.

The ERA Foundation funded individual would work closely with the KTP
Associates to deliver a successful outcome for the companies involved.
