Project Details
Description
Academics from Huddersfield aims to make a positive impact on environment by advocating the use of biodegradable materials in stretch-wrap packaging, a technology making use of the intrinsic elasticity of materials for more preservable and cost-effective wrapping. Plant-based biodegradable polymers offer an alternative to traditional plastic warps which breaks down into eco-friendly byproducts by a natural way without polluting the environment. Based on a scientific understanding on mechanics of biodegradable polymer films, this project helps packaging industry to predict and control the mechanical performance of packing process to build a reliable and sustainable future packaging practice.
