Translating Metal Music Production Research into Education: Educator Engagement and Impact Evidence for HiMMP Learn

At learn.himmp.net, a free web app (HiMMP Learn) turns four years of AHRC research into interactive modules for music-production educators. HiMMP ran from 2020 to 2024 and investigated how professional engineers produce heavy metal mixes. Over three months, this IAA phase puts the app in front of FE and HE educators across the M62 corridor. Through interviews, we capture what they need from the app and approved use-case statements that will strengthen the resource itself. Out of that comes a refinement roadmap and a documented workshop model. Findings then feed REF 2029 impact and a future AHRC translation bid.
