Project Details

Description

The project leads on from our initial funding which was to attract and engage new audiences with the Knit and Crochet Guild (KCG). The initial research stage presented findings that younger generational cohorts did not want digitisation but physical interaction. The developed project will now consist of workshops to promote and engage younger audiences with this declining craft.

To run a workshop and competition with local schools (junior initially) to explain knit and crochet and then to let them interpret the presentations of knit and crochet they have seen in any form whether this be using AI, paint, drawing, Lego etc.

The outputs will lead to potential outcomes of widening participation with local schools, engagement with the local community and development of awareness of the craft and reinterpretation by a digital first generation.
