Abstract
The performance by Passages Theatre Group, A Blueprint For Ageing, explores the structures, maps, metaphors and schemes that conceptualise the lifespan. Outlines proposed by Shakespeare, Erikson or popular press views of ageing, and notions of life as a journey or as analogous to the cycle of the seasons are juxtaposed against examples of real lives that might conform or contradict these prescriptions. Alternative, multifaceted, accounts of the lifecourse are presented in this interactive piece of contemporary performance.
