Abstract

This paper describes a system for web-based collaborative music composition. Traditionally, software systems for music composition have been single user systems or multiuser systems evolved from single user systems. Although these systems allow music composition using the Internet, they may not address issues relating to shared resources. The system described here uses Services Oriented Architectures, allowing compositional tools and components to be shared over a distributed environment.
