A comparison of the impact of FWM on binary, duobinary and dicode modulation in DWDM systems

Abstract

We compare a coding scheme called dicode with duobinary signalling and with normal binary transmission. We demonstrate that dicode coding suppresses the four wave mixing (FWM) products of a three channel DWDM system and we present this reduction against that achieved with duobinary coding.
