Abstract
Broadcast is an important topic in ad hoc networks, and many protocols are proposed. But existing protocols are inefficient in the network lifetime concerned situations. In this paper, we propose a lifetime aware ad hoc broadcast protocol. In this protocol we select the rebroadcast nodes according to both the remaining energy and the degrees of the nodes, so that the rebroadcast node set is more adaptive and the energy consumption is balanced. The simulation results show that our protocol achieves a better network lifetime than other ad hoc broadcast protocols.
